Obesity is a disease, doctors' group says
Tue Jun 18, 2013
I wonder if we need a ribbon and a walk for the cure. How about a 2 day walk with medics and pastry shop on standby? I wonder who will walk or run for us, since I am one. While I' thinking of a way to get support, I will have some brie, wine, and definately some dessert. This kind of thinking will n …
Edward Snowden, professed NSA leaker, may have few safe havens
Tue Jun 11, 2013
I have a feeling it's only a matter of time before Snowden disappears from the radar. Even if he ends up in Russia, the Russians will quietly trade him for something they want more. Snowden's life choices are severely limited at this point. After the Boston Marathon bombing the Russians want to know …
Diplomatic intrigue: Where will unmasked NSA leaker go?
Mon Jun 10, 2013
The US and China have extradition treaties in place, so this wasn't the best to go for refuge. If he doesn't want to return then he should have hidden in Venezuela, Brazil, or Cuba. Now that China met the President and is feigning friendship, this idiot who cannot uphold a contract confidentiality w …
Blood test may detect colon cancer, early research suggests
Fri Jun 7, 2013
I like the idea of having both as complimentary tests. A blood test will detect when the cancer is present, meaning the cancer had time to develop into something that is now detectable. The colonoscopy finds and removes any polyps before they grow cancerous. I like the idea of a blood as back up to …
Soda or pop? Coo-pon or cyu-pon? Maps reveal how America speaks

Ah a soder, that's northeast along with the grinder NYC, Philly, and sometime Boston when we can find the R.
Judge orders girl added to adult lung transplant list
Wed Jun 5, 2013
How does one judge's ruling in a state court take precedence over a national list? This is a slippery slope that does not have a good outcome for anyone. So the judge is prepared to give healthy adult lungs to a 10 year old and bypass the next needy adult in line. How will the exception loophole be …
Sewer pipe miracle baby leaves China hospital; No charges for mother
Thu May 30, 2013
I don't understand having a baby over the toilet in the first place. I guess no one is afraid of the soft skull hitting the porcelain of the toilet or drowning in the water? It's an interesting case of the baby slipped from my hands. It's plausible, but why over the toilet? Why not on a bed or a bla …
No decision on release of US woman jailed in Mexico on drug allegations
Wed May 29, 2013
While I think she's probably innocent because I don't believe she would strap drugs under her seat where it's easily caught. However, I am tired of seeing the pictures illustrating that because she has on a wedding dress, is married, Mormon, and is a "mother" she must necessarily be exempt from anyt …
For a job after graduation, major in these, not those
Wed May 29, 2013
My English professor said, "English majors can do anything." 20 years later, I think he meant after grad school.
Oregon teen charged with attempted murder in alleged bomb plot
Tue May 28, 2013
Napalm under the floor boards, would smell up the room. Most teenage boy's rooms smell pretty ripe, but napalm is a singular odor. I'm surprised he could make the bomb without smelling up the house.
